Hotel Lobby AI Video Looks Off? Six Fixes for the Faces, the Duo and the Outfits (2026)

Why a Hotel Lobby AI video sometimes does not look like you or your friend, why the two of you swap places, and the fix for each before you spend another video. With what one video costs today.

Nov 2, 2026

Short answer: most Hotel Lobby AI videos that look off come down to the photos: a face that is not fully visible, a group picture, a far away shot or the two photos in the wrong slots. Open the Hotel Lobby AI page, add one sharp, front-facing photo per person, You in the first slot and your duo in the second, pick the example closest to the look you want and generate again. One video is $9.99, and a failed render gives the video back automatically. Facts and prices were checked on November 2, 2026.

What the Clip Asks of Your Photos

The trend comes from "HOTEL LOBBY (Unc & Phew)", which Quavo and Takeoff performed for A COLORS SHOW in 2022: two rappers in a saturated orange booth with one microphone hanging between them. Since September 2026 people have been putting friends, couples and coworkers into that frame. The original performance runs 20 seconds.

Two things make it harder than a one-person trend. There are two people in the frame, so the model has to keep two faces apart. And the orange light tints everything, so a face that is already dark or soft in the photo gets harder to read. Almost every fix below is about the photos, not about the generator.

1. One of the Faces Is Not Fully Visible

Sunglasses, a cap pulled low, hair over one eye or a face turned to the side all leave gaps. The model fills them in, and the person in the booth looks like a cousin of your friend instead of your friend.

Fix: a front-facing photo with both eyes, the nose and the mouth clearly in view, for each person. Clear glasses are fine; sunglasses hide the eyes.

2. You Used a Photo of the Two of You Together

It seems natural to use one picture of both of you, but the page recasts each performer from their own photo. A group photo makes the model pick one face, usually the biggest, and leaves the other spot guessing.

Fix: one person per photo, two photos in all. They do not need to be taken together or in the same place; separate selfies work well.

3. The Two of You Swapped Places

The first photo slot is "You" and the second is "Your duo". If the person you wanted on the left ends up on the right, the photos went in the other order, or the example you picked puts its performers the other way round.

Fix: swap the photos between the slots, or switch on Prompt and say who goes where, for example "the man from @image1 stands on the left in a red flannel". The examples show who sits where before you start.

4. The Photo Is Too Far Away or Too Compressed

A full body photo from across the room, a screenshot of a story or a picture forwarded through several chats often has a face only a few hundred pixels wide. Blur in, blur out, and the orange light makes it worse.

Fix: send the original photo from your camera roll. Head and shoulders, or waist up, at normal phone distance is the sweet spot. Our guide to the best photos for Hotel Lobby AI covers this in more detail.

5. The Outfits Are Not What You Expected

The outfit in each photo is the outfit in the video. A hoodie in the photo means a hoodie in the booth, and a busy logo across the chest can come out warped while you move.

Fix: use photos in the clothes you want to see, or pick an example that already has the look: Blazer and Flannel, Leather Couple, Booth Bros, Microphone Duet. If you like the photo but not the clothes, switch on Prompt and describe the outfits. The faces still come from the photos.

6. You Used a Celebrity or Someone Who Did Not Agree

Photos of Quavo, Takeoff or any other public figure are not allowed, and the safety check turns down many of them, which makes the render fail.

Fix: use photos of yourself and of people who agreed to be in the video: a friend, a partner, a coworker.

When the Render Itself Fails

A failed render gives the video back to your account automatically; there is nothing to claim. The status card says why. The usual reasons are an unreadable photo or a photo the safety check turned down.

Fix: change the photo and generate again. If the faces are clear and it still fails, write to support from the ticket page in your settings and include the video's name.

A 30 Second Check Before You Generate Again

  1. One person per photo, two photos for a duo.
  2. You in the first slot, your duo in the second.
  3. Faces toward the camera, nothing covering the eyes.
  4. Original photos, no screenshots or filters.
  5. The outfits you want, or an example that already has them.
  6. Both people agreed to be in the video.

What It Costs to Try Again

Hotel Lobby AI Fix FAQ

Why does my friend look right but I do not? Each face comes from its own photo, so one sharp photo and one soft one give one good face and one off face. Replace only the weaker photo and try again.

Can I do it alone? Yes. The second photo is optional. With one photo you take one spot and the other performer stays as in the clip.

Does a full body photo give a better result? Not much. The booth shot is waist up, so a clear head and shoulders photo beats a full body shot from far away.

Can I fix only one face and keep the rest? Every generation is a new video, so you redo the whole clip. Keep the photo that worked and change only the other one.

Is the song in the video? No. Add the official "Hotel Lobby" sound from TikTok's or Instagram's music library when you post.
